What is a Biomechanical Assessment?

A biomechanical assessment is a detailed evaluation of the mechanics of the human body in regards to specific motions.  This can include, but is not limited to: skeletal alignment evaluation, muscle strength testing, range of motion testing, evaluation of angular relationships of segments of the foot, leg, knees and hips, and sensory testing.

During your assessment, a Certified Pedorthist will conduct a detailed biomechanical assessment of your foot, ankle, and lower leg to determine the specialized treatment required to alleviate pain and improve mobility.  This assessment will include:

-        evaluation of relevant medical history

-        footwear evaluation

-        foot and ankle range of motion testing

-        muscle strength testing

-        skeletal alignment evaluation

-        evaluation of positional relationships between the different segments of the foot, ankle, knees and hips
